In exactly 100 days I will embark on another adventure, 650km walk through Portugal, known as the Portuguese Way Camino.

Pic was taken 2012 when I walked the Francis Way

Am I prepared, NO!! but then that is how I roll or as the girls keep telling me “that is how we rock n roll”!!

How important is it to be “prepared”?

I keep reminding myself that if I could tackle 800km’s across Spain not even knowing at the time of my first day on the Frances Way Camino that I needed to follow the yellow arrows surely I can conquer 650km across Portugal knowing that I need to follow the yellow arrows.

BUT, ………always about the BUT!! It is not about the yellow arrows and knowing where you are going, it is about ATTITUDE.

One of the important steps you can take toward achieving your greatest potential in life is to learn to monitor your attitude and its impact on your goal, relationships and everyone around you. I am generally a positive person, however am human and have my off days as well. In truth, I think people generally don’t have a good handle on attitude and the reason why I strive to set a sound example for my girls and keep pushing this mind set with them. I often ask the girls the question: “What attitude are you taking to school today? Often, this brings puzzled looks from both of them but at ages 13 and 14 they know attitude is everything. They understand that it governs the way they perceive the world and the way the world perceives them. They know they have a choice, they can choose (include myself here) to have an inner dialogue of self-encouragement and self-motivation, or can choose one of self-defeat and self-pity. It’s a power we all have. Each of us encounters hard times, hurt feelings, heartache, and physical and emotional pain. The key is to realize it’s not what happens to you that matters, it’s how you choose to respond that matters.

So – with that shared, am I prepared, well my answer is still NO, however my attitude about this journey is in a great place and I am excited, thrilled, enlivened, electrified and counting down the 100 days.
