Loads of work to finish…

Will get it done…

Time to THANK those who have played a role in getting me here…

CASSIDY MARSH, my eldest daughter who keeps reminding me of how strong I am and that I can do anything I truly believe in (sounds like an echo).  Little does she realise that she is the STRONG ONE who keeps me going.  I love her soft, kind, caring, nature and I love that she is MY RAINBOW!! She never whines and just lives in the moment, I love the way she embraces the consequences of her decisions and I feel so very blessed watching her blossom into such a beautiful “adult”!  15 and so wise and so special!

TANIKA MARSH, my youngest daughter who keeps telling me how much she is going to miss me (she is sooo sick at the moment but this too shall pass), little does she know that it is me who will miss her more (them both more)!!  Nik Nak remember you may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.  I love that you NEVER complain and that you make every effort to change things you do not like. If you cannot make a change, you change the way you have been thinking and I enjoy this energy about you and it is this very energy that has allowed me to once again embrace another journey one step at a time!!

TAMSIN AND JEREMY, for re-doing my blog and designing me the most awesome cutest logo that sums me up in four icon type pictures.  I have enjoyed our time together chatting, debating, teaching me all the tricks of the blog trade, love that you both love cappuccino, even though Tamsin is going to have to up her game as she is 5 cappuccino’s behind!!! xx

JOHN SIDDALL, my walking buddy who has been there every step of the way helping me build leg strength and even though we did not walk as often as we should have the walks we did share chatting up a storm were special and I will treasure the laughs, the moans, the stories, the groans, the cappuccino’s, the  lengthy discussions on life and seeing life through a “mans” eyes rather than the constant emotional view of a women (as you put it – such a girl way of thinking)!!  THANK YOU for taking the time to drive to Midstream most weekends, I sincerely appreciate the time you spent PUSHING me and recommending strategies on why we needed to RUN most of our walks rather than just WALK them!!  I am excited for your want and will to walk the DEL NORTE CAMINO in July / August!!!   HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR FLIGHT YET??????

LISA GOOSEN, I am so grateful for all the compeed you managed to get for me on one of your trips.  Here is a pic of my feet, 2012 on the Francis Way Camino.  The pic was taken day 11 of my walk across Spain.  What you see is loads of compeed covering up loads of blisters! THANK YOU “you” are snug as a bug in my back pack!!

INEZ, my baby sister whom I love so dearly and miss so much, who contacts me often and keeps me focussed on LIFE, little does she know the impact she has, I am truly grateful and feel so loved by her special energy she keeps sending my way!  THANK YOU for agreeing to having the girls in Cape Town with you for a few days while they are on school holidays.  The girls are so excited!!

KOREN, my other baby sister who has kept the pressure on – in getting me organised for this trip. Pushing me to do this, to do that, to do to do to do to do……., so love having you live with me even though you drive me mad every now and again.  THANK YOU for watching my diet and ensuring that I am eating correctly!!  See you in Porto on the 27th June!!  Just so you know I am appreciative of what you do for me and the girls!!

MY BOSSES, yes I have two bosses (Brad and Richard), THANK YOU for giving me the lengthy time off work, I am so grateful and look forward to returning more motivated than ever.

MY MOM, who willingly offered to look after my 4 legged furry white ball of fun – Vanilla. THANKS mom, I know you adore Vanilla and therefore my heart is at peace and know she is in good hands while I am gone.

SHARON AND DEREK, for the awesome, most comfortable ETONIC walking shoes to aid my “feet” across Portugal and on to Finnesterre. THANK YOU for my early 50th birthday prezzie.  I will sip champagne out of my shoes on the 27th June in PORTO!!!  (Bwahahaha) no, seriously I will!!

1000 MILE SOCKS, thank you to the designers of this brand, I trust your socks will protect my feet from blisters, if not I am going to write to you asking for my money back as your socks are dam expensive!!  (insert smiley face)

MAISIE AND ALAN, I am sooooo happy we have some male energy walking the Portuguese Way with us, Alan makes up the trio!  The trio will walk from Lisbon to Porto to Santiago to Finnesterre together!  WHOOP!! Alan, thank you for wanting and choosing to walk with Sharon and I.  We look forward to many a bottles of vino tinto (red wine) along the way!

GERRY, for all the advice, love, support and friendship.  I will listen to your every word that you have given me re the Portuguese Way and I will keep you updated via the blog on how the journey goes xxxx – thanks again!  FYI, took my sleeping bag and towel out my back pack so it will be hotels ALL THE WAY to Santiago!!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST, PHIL for unconditionally embracing having the girls during this time to allow me to embark on a peaceful walk across Portugal.  THANK YOU and I sincerely hope you will enjoy every second of these two awesome daughters we brought into this weird yet wonderful world.  Take the time to listen to them, they will teach you such wonderful lessons on how to embrace life to the fullest.
