Day 5, Ponte de Lima to Rubias

Today’s climb to Portela Grande, short easy walk of +- 22km’s – however one hell of a climb, luckily in the shade so very do-able and if you take it slowly it in fact is not that bad!! (NB -Brierley’s book is not correct reflecting only 18.1km’s for the day’s route)

Leaving Ponte de Lima this morning

Albergue Ninho – apparently a great private Albergue, I have not stayed here however have read 5 star ratings about this Albergue in Rubias.

My legs not looking good again, this rash keeps flaring up and is most irritating.  It is apparently a form of de-hydration and I am not sure I can get anymore water into my system, drinking +- 4 litres a day!!

Tanika sent these pics to me today, we continue to miss her loads.  She is HAPPY visiting dear friends in Namibia, Swakopmund.

Cassidy and Rachel leaving their “imprint” on a “quote board” in the ONLY restaurant in Rubias.  Must admit the food is great and real value for money.  Portions are huge though, which is a bit of a waste!!

Another good day’s walking, another day conquered, another Camino…………
